28 Feb 2010:
After more difficulty with the interactive database I was trying out, I've found that it simply causes too many problems to use it. I've switched back to a free html interface that should make research easier for everyone. Sometimes simpler is better. I've also repaired the e-mail address, so you can reach me now at mike@kerngenealogy.com with any questions or comments.

Michael Kern's Family Genealogy Website

Welcome to my genealogy website. Established in 1996, this webpage seeks to explore my family roots, and subsequently, those of many others in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, Pennslyvania. My database, which contains over 5000 individuals, extends across the United States and into Europe back many hundreds of years. To the left, you will find links to navigate around my page.

Clicking on "Family Database" will take you to a database created by free software created by Leslie Howard. It's the same that I have used over the last 10 years, and I hope you find it easy to navigate. Below this, "Family Information" will provide you with infomation about family folklore and recent events, followed by "Local Research," offering links to local resources that I am compiling. The link to "Pennsylvania German Help" seeks to provide a number of resources for the individual geared toward Pennsylvania Dutch (Pennsylvania German) research. Finally, you'll find my new discussion forum and recommended genealogy links.

As an amateur researcher, I'm always willing to help others in their genealogy research, and am open to suggestions, corrections, and submissions to my database. I use John Sneed's Brothers Keeper software, which is GEDCOM compatible, so I can easily import submitted additions to my database. If you're interested in submitting your data, or if you have corrections or requests regarding my data, don't hestitate to contact me.
